Is it possible to home school a middle schooler while working full time?

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

I'm debating home schooling my son after this school year (he's in 5th grade). But I work full time and cannot be a SAHM even though I'd like to. How hard do you think it would it be to home school him and work full time? Thanks!

What do you do with a student who displays autistic behavior and the parents don't want any testing done?

The child is constantly interrupting with verbal outbursts or banging on floor or table. I just need to make it to the end of the school year with my sanity. I can put the student on a computer and they will be quiet, but they also need to do classwork - which they will not complete unless someone is hovering over them. Student is very capable of doing work and is intelligent - The social worker and principal are aware of the situation but our hands are tied.

Home School???

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

My son has been diagnosed with a terrible illness. His illness has caused him to miss many days of school last year. He is on a 504 so it was fine for him to miss school. His doctors recommend that he be home schooled this year instead of returning to school. Now that the time for the new school year to start, I am nerves. I have never home schooled before and wonder if my son will suffer. Does anyone home school??? If so what are some things I should know.

How early into student teaching can I start sending out resumes?

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

I'm starting student teaching the 3rd week of January. I want to send out as many applications as I can and hopefully get a full-time job by the fall for the next school year.

I'm geographically mobile, so that's not really a problem. How far into student teaching is it appropriate to begin sending out applications? How long do I have to wait to get a letter of recommendation from my co-op teacher? Until the end?
