How do I get a student loan for living expeneses?

I am trying to get a student loan, because I need to be able to pay for an apartment and need to get a new vehicle. I am working but I'm only making minimum wage and its not enough. How do i get a student loan that will send me the money instead of the school?

    There’s a lot of private lenders.

    Try your bank first, and ask your school financial aid office.

    You tell the school you want the maximum loan amount and then they should cut you a check for the difference. Good luck with that. I did it and I sooo regret it because now I have to pay it all back, plus interest on the loan that wasn’t subsidized. Really think hard and see if you can’t get a different job or more hours at your current job.
