Can a student withdraw before an explusion hearing?

December 26th, 2009 | by |

I am asking this for a friend.

If a high school student is going to be expelled from school, can he or she withdraw from school before the hearing is held?

I've read online that a student may withdraw from that school before the expulsion hearing occurs, although he or she will have a note in his record about the "explusion" until he or she graduates.

Can anyone comment on this?

If you are over 16, you can withdraw from school at any time. However, you can still be expelled, whether you have withdrawn or not. This means that you can never attend a school in that district again.
