I started college this year. I am an independent student ( I do not live with my parents). Our family is low income, and we get a much needed sizeable tax return every year. I'm wondering how my federal student aid will effect our tax return. Will it raise or lower it? Thanks!
I know that I am an independent student. I'm 25 years old, married, with 3 kids.

I am in tenth grade. I recently broke my foot and have been on crutches for eight weeks. Being on crutches it is difficult to get around school. If I re-brake my foot, I'm going to be home-schooled. Can I be home-schooled for only a quarter? Also, how do I get started?

Is it possible to start home-schooling now, when I am in high school? If so, how can I learn more about it? And also, does being home-schooled hinder my chances of being accepted to a good university?

I'd like to be the student manager of the winter track team at my high school, but first I want to get all the details. Does anyone know what being a student manager entails?

I am asking this for a friend.
If a high school student is going to be expelled from school, can he or she withdraw from school before the hearing is held?
I've read online that a student may withdraw from that school before the expulsion hearing occurs, although he or she will have a note in his record about the "explusion" until he or she graduates.
Can anyone comment on this?

Is it extremely difficult? Does this become easier if the student has a masters degree or a PHD? What can the student do to get it?

I'm writing a story, and one of my characters has been home schooled all her life and, due to her mother's career change, has to start public high school as a freshman. Does the curriculum differ? How does one adapt to the social structure of public school? Do home schooled kids ever feel "sheltered" compared to their public school counterparts? I would appreciate help from anyone who has gone through a similar transition.

My student loans are through NelNet and I received a letter from NelNet instructing me to stop making payments. The reason they give is that my student loan account has been paid by a claim and now has a zero balance. I have had student loans since 1995; but I also have filed bankruptcy. What does all this mean? What claim paid my loans off? Did I or someone else get sued for the money?

I have a product that I would like to sell and the student graduation parties seem like an ideal market for it. Who can I contact for this? I'd like to know who is responsible for the purchases of the freebies given away at graduation. Is it the student council or the administrators of the school? Thanks.
